* To be eligible for our student rate, you must be enrolled in your initial certification (usually 200 hours) on the effective date of coverage. Our student policy will only cover you for the disciplines and methods that are in your coursework.

beYogi does not cover Canadian yoga instructors. The American Yoga Council has an insurance provider recommendation that will cover Canadian instructors. Please reach out to them directly.
Yoga insurance, also known as yoga liability insurance, is designed specifically for independent yoga instructors—often working as independent contractors. In contrast, yoga studio insurance typically falls under a Business Owner’s Policy (BOP), which offers broader protection and includes coverage for your physical business operations.
With occurrence-based coverage, you're protected for incidents that occur during the policy period. Even if you file a claim after the policy expires, you'll still be covered for incidents that happened while the policy was active.
Claims can be delayed for various reasons, such as a client not realizing the full extent of their injury, paperwork issues, or other factors. As a result, a claim might be filed after your policy has expired. For this reason, occurrence-based protection can be a lifesaver for yoga teachers.
As of December 15th, 2025, we offer international retreat coverage at no additional cost for teachers who lead yoga retreats and teach overseas for up to 21 days per experience. This is not travel insurance. Coverage extends to professional liability claims only.
No, this is not covered under a beYogi policy. Our parent company, Gallagher, offers specialized small business insurance that can include sexual misconduct insurance. If you need this coverage, please reach out to shannon@beyogi.com.
