November 3, 2022The Energy of Autumn
We recently had Reggie Hubbard join us for an informative webinar on embracing the energy of autumn.
Reggie is an internationally recognized yoga and meditation teacher and the founder/chief serving officer of Active Peace Yoga. His wellness journey was born of curiosity; forged in the adversity of a toxic employment situation and now is his lifestyle.
Adopting disciplined yogic practices has saved his life, which is why he now seeks to share them widely for the well-being of all. Reggie's life work sits at the intersection of enhancing the well-being of all walks of life and tearing down unhelpful norms around grind culture and grief. This is essential for our collective healing and redemption.
Reggie has taught elected officials, activists and people from all walks of life the miracles that exist in committing to personal peace and wellbeing as a foundation, rather than an afterthought.
Embracing The Energy Of Autumn
The energy of Autumn is about creative expression, introspection, and harvesting. Many people have mixed feelings about autumn because the days get shorter and colder but this has its place in our busy lives - finding a place to rest and reflect so that actions going forward are informed by wisdom.
How to let go and focus on introspection
The autumn leaves show us how letting go can be a beautiful thing. Autumn is the season that prepares us for the longest night of the year, the winter solstice. As you prepare for shorter days and more introspection, what can you beautifully shed so that you can lighten your load, and feel amazing while doing it?
This is an ideal time for meditation and retrospection; as the days grow shorter and colder, we can look within and continue to grow.
Finding the good in the fall season
Autumn is also a season of harvest. This can be a literal harvest from your garden or harvesting wisdom from the experiences of the year thus far. What does harvesting look like for you? As you reflect on the past seasons of spring and summer, what do you want to carry with you into winter?
Connect with the energy of Autumn
As the tree leaves and the temperature falls, use that energy in your yoga routine. Take the time to breathe and connect with the earth. Ground yourself as you reflect on your experiential harvest, and nurture yourself with mindful reflections and self-love.
