beYogi's Insurance Program Highlights
Why does beYogi's yoga insurance outweigh Philadelphia insurance (PHLY)?
Unlike Philadelphia Insurance, beYogi Insurance Plus offers yoga instructors all-inclusive liability insurance as low as $179 a year. beYogi also offers a $25 student policy, so if you are a student currently enrolled in yoga teacher training (YTT) you are covered even if the unfortunate happens. Philadelphia Insurance does not offer an affordable student rate, leaving you uncovered if something unforeseen happens to you.
In addition, Philadelphia Insurance can restrict how many hours you can work a week, and if you go over the allotted hours, your insurance is voided—leaving you uncovered. However, by purchasing beYogi’s professional policy you will be covered even if you do teach more than 6 hours a week—don’t limit yourself or your potential.
Also, you’ll want to keep in mind that while you may be teaching at one studio for now, you never know what the future holds! Opportunities may arise to teach a workshop, in private client’s homes, or at retreats and festivals. beYogi insurance will follow you not matter where you decide to take your passion.
Another reason why beYogi Insurance Plus outweighs Philadelphia Insurance is because they do not offer their policy holders with benefits such as stolen equipment coverage, identity protection, and a free professional website.
Having stolen equipment coverage is something that every yoga instructor should consider, especially if you invest a lot of money in yoga mats and blocks for your clients. If something that you use for your business is stolen from you, beYogi will reimburse you for those lost or stolen items. When you become insured through beYogi Insurance Plus, you will have up to $1,000 in stolen equipment coverage, giving you the peace of mind you need.
Along with the stolen equipment coverage that beYogi Insurance Plus offers, you will also receive identity protection coverage and a free professional website. When you purchase a policy through Philadelphia Insurance, you will not receive either of those benefits, which could potentially put your identity and brand at risk. By investing in a beYogi Insurance Plus policy, you are not only protecting your career but also your practice.

Does beYogi and Philadelphia yoga insurance offer stolen equipment coverage?
When building our program for yoga instructors, we decided to construct a comprehensive plan that provides useful protection in the real world. Stolen equipment coverage is just one way that our plans are more comprehensive than Philadelphia yoga insurance who does not offer this type of coverage with their yoga insurance policy.
As an instructor, you are often working as either an independent contractor or as a sole proprietor in your own studio. In either case, having vital equipment like expensive yoga mats and position blocks get stolen could seriously impact your ability to provide a good session to students. That’s why we include up to $1000 worth of stolen equipment coverage with only a $250 deductible. This means when your equipment is stolen, we will reimburse you for the costs all the way up to a thousand dollars.
Does Philadelphia yoga insurance include identity protection like beYogi?
Nope, Philadelphia does not provide an identity protection plan with their yoga insurance policy. beYogi provides this important additional safeguard to give our members the best all-around coverage available, all at a single low rate. In a world where cyber incidents happen every second of the day, having your identity compromised could significantly impact your ability to provide services. beYogi’s included identity protection plan provides up to $25,000 worth of identity recovery services should a cyber incident put your personal information at risk.
Where can I see a yoga insurance comparison?
Unlike Philadelphia, we choose to showcase our yoga insurance policy right alongside all of the leading competitors in the field so our members can see what we provide, compare it to what else is out there, and then make the best decision for their individual yoga journey. Our yoga insurance guide offers a great yoga insurance comparison snapshot.
How much is Philadelphia yoga insurance?
Like beYogi, Philadelphia offers yoga insurance for both part-time and full-time instructors. However, Philadelphia yoga insurance caps their part-time hours at only 6 hours per week and includes both a premium portion and a group fee for a total of $125.00. For their full-time yoga insurance policy, the total is $185.00. These plans only cover a small number of modalities and their website warns that the prices can increase depending on your state. At beYogi we offer a 10 hour per week part-time policy for the same low rate of $159 across the country. Our full-time policy is only $179 per year and like our part-time plans cover more than 350 different health and wellness specialties.
What are the coverage limits of Philadelphia liability insurance yoga?
Philadelphia provides limits of $2 million per occurrence and a $4 million annual aggregate for general and professional liability claims. They provide additional limits for product liability, sexual abuse, medical payments, and rental damage. beYogi provides a $2 million per occurrence and then a $3 million individual annual aggregate meaning that this total is per each member rather than being pooled. We also provide $2 million for product liability, $100,000 for rental damage, $1,000 for stolen/damaged equipment with a $250 deductible, identity protection, and tons of member benefits like a free professional website, eBooks, and product discounts.
What yoga services are not covered by Philadelphia yoga insurance?
Philadelphia yoga insurance has a very limited scope of yoga modalities that it does cover and an even greater number of services listed on their website as being “ineligible”. Our yoga insurance plan provides coverage for more than 350 different health and wellness modalities because we understand instructors often will utilize multiple techniques during a session with students. Rather than wondering if a given modality is covered, beYogi members enjoy peace of mind knowing that most major services are covered and we are continuing to add even more to the list.
Can I buy a student policy with Philadelphia yoga insurance?
No, Philadelphia yoga insurance does not offer a student policy. Knowing just how crucial coverage is for budding yoga instructors, beYogi offers students only policy for the discounted rate of only $25 for a full year of coverage. Many students find it beneficial to wait to secure this coverage until they are nearing graduation so that most of their first year in the business is covered for the incredible rate of only $25. Our student policy comes with all of the same coverage limits, perks, and benefits as our professional yoga insurance policies.
What is the main benefit of an occurrence form policy over claims made?
Occurrence form policies are the industry’s preferred choice for providing the best coverage option for professionals. Occurrence form provides coverage for all claims that are related to a claim event that occurs while the policy is still active, no matter when the claim is filed and even after the policy expires. Claims made says that the policy has to still be active for a claim to be covered. This can be truly detrimental if a client waits a few weeks to file a claim and your policy happens to expire in that timeframe. With occurrence form, you’d still be covered in this example and with a claims-made you would face paying for the claim yourself. When comparing yoga insurance providers, it is vital to make sure they use occurrence form policies. Both beYogi and Philadelphia use occurrence form.
How long does it take to get yoga insurance with Philadelphia yoga insurance?
Philadelphia yoga insurance can take upwards of 24 hours to bind. We know the real world often requires being able to instantly provide results. Maybe you are working at a private event or a studio is asking to see your certificate before they let you teach, whatever the case our yoga insurance application takes minutes to complete and then affords you instant proof of insurance.
What is the best yoga insurance you can buy?
For the best yoga insurance, you need to compare what all is covered under the policy, consider any member benefits provided, and then look at the price offered. Many providers like Philadelphia only cover a few modalities. If you teach a modality that is outside of that scope it either is not covered or will require paying an additional fee. At beYogi, we choose to simplify the process with one, low rate that covers a multitude of different yoga practices, provides tons of member benefits you will actually use, and above all, provides great insurance coverage for yoga instructors.
Where can I see Philadelphia yoga insurance reviews?
Philadelphia yoga insurance does not utilize TrustPilot, the independent third party review platform beYogi chooses to offer so that members can get an unbiased view of our products and services. Also, Philadelphia uses local offices to administer their plans so Googling them lends a limited number of reviews based on a specific geographical location rather than their services as a whole. Always remember, Google reviews should only be used as a general reference since they have been shown to contain many fake reviews. That’s why we rely on TrustPilot’s platform for providing verified reviews.
What are part-time versus full-time hours for Philadelphia yoga insurance?
Part-time hours for Philadelphia are just 6 hours per week. Teaching more than this would put an instructor in the full-time category and require them to pay a greater rate. With beYogi’s part-time hours capped at 10 hours per week, our yoga insurance program provides 66% more hours so that more part-time instructors can take advantage of the rate reduction.
What member benefits are offered by Philadelphia yoga insurance?
Other than a few blog-type articles, Philadelphia yoga insurance does not list any sort of member benefits on their website. Conversely, with beYogi our members enjoy a benefits program that supports our instructors, their practice, and their yoga journey. Valued at more than $300, our benefits program has been specially curated for maximum benefit by yogis, for yogis. With our plans we offer free access to our leading pose library, free business resources, a free professional website, early access deals and discounts on great names in yoga gear, free eBooks, and so much more.
Does Philadelphia yoga insurance offer free business resources?
Philadelphia yoga insurance provides a few blog posts within their risk management section of their website but then wants you to purchase additional insurance provisions in order to access all of the benefits of this program. We don’t want to be anything but a great resource for members so we turned a whole section of our website into our exclusive beYogi resource center. Within this section you can find lifestyle guides for yogis, teaching tips from respected pros in the industry, perfect yoga playlists, business tips, and guides, and so much more. We truly see ourselves as partners in each other's success. As partners, we want to bring as much as possible to the table to support you and your business.
Still have questions about our program or yoga liability insurance in general? No worries! The beYogi tribe is available Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM ET. And we have an after-hours line, too! Contact us via online chat, telephone, or email, and we’ll get you the answers you need.
